Mistake #1
The cheap implant you pay for twice
A cheaper implant can fail sooner, and then you pay twice: once for the first one and again to put it right. We use Neodent for single and multiple implants, part of the Straumann Group, and we also work with Straumann where a patient wants it. We will show you exactly what is going in and why at your consultation.
Mistake #2
The quote that grows after you say yes
Scans, the crown and the follow-up appointments are often quoted separately. At Newnham Dental and Cosmetics a single tooth implant is $5,500, and that includes the implant, the crown and your post treatment follow-up. Bone grafting, if your case needs it, is quoted separately. You get your figure in writing at your consultation.

Before it she reviews your medical history, medications and any GP clearance you need. After it, what to eat and what to watch for while it heals. Part of your plan, not an add-on.

One hour, four parts, and a written plan at the end
Here is exactly what happens at the appointment, so there are no surprises on the day.
STEP 1:
Your history and what you want to change
We go through your general health, any medications and your dental history. Then we talk about what is bothering you and what you want the result to be, because that shapes everything that follows.
STEP 2:
Examination and imaging
A full oral examination and, where it is clinically required on the day, imaging such as photography, x-ray or a 3D scan. This is how we assess your bone density and structure, and determine whether implants are suitable for you.
STEP 3:Â
Your written plan and the exact figure
You leave with a written treatment plan: what is involved, the sequence, how long it takes, and your exact figure with nothing left off it. We also go through the payment options, including payment plans, where eligible. Conditions apply. Super is one of the ways you can pay. Early release is decided by the ATO, and it comes out of your retirement savings.
STEP 4:Â
Your questions, answered properly
Time to ask anything, including what recovery is actually like and what happens if you decide not to go ahead. You are under no obligation to book treatment.

A team, with one person holding the plan
Your consultation, your treatment plan and the implant placement itself are done by the same dentist, start to finish. The restorative work and your follow-up visits are handled by the dentist in our team who does that work all day. You get one plan, agreed with you, and the person best placed to carry out each part of it.
